GreenAnnie Botanicals creates unique and purposeful personal care products that are developed in a sustainable manner for everyone. All products are created with a combination of thorough research and inspiration received while spending time in nature. Each ingredient is carefully chosen based on quality and positive impacts to its bioregion. GreenAnnie believes quality skin care is as important as the food we eat and our products should always support better healthcare and inspire us to continually look for plant-based methods to improve our lives.
While consulting on a greenhouse project several years ago, I was asked how herbs and flowers who grew alongside edibles could be further enjoyed and utilized. My client understood the importance of biodiversity to encourage healthy, thriving environments but she wanted to know if plants could be utilized even further. My answer was “Yes” absolutely! I had been drawn to making personal care items for many years and jumped at the opportunity to demonstrate what could be made from medicinal and edible herbs growing in her garden. With a few classes, lots of research, and some intuition, I began making herbal salves and aromatherapy products and sharing them with my clients, friends, and family. It has been through their encouragement and stories of actual healing that I started GreenAnnie Botanicals and began exploring ways to share the love with everyone.
Hello, my name is Dianne, or Annie if you have known me since childhood, a mother, a sister, a gardener, maker, researcher, and an advocate for living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. It was at a very young age that I fell in love with nature and realized that working with plants would become a life-long ambition. I contribute these early recollections to my Great Grandmother remembering the awe and joy that was felt while watching and helping her care for her gardens. In my eyes, she was a real pioneer who truly understood the interconnectedness of the natural world and how the earth can provide for us with our proper stewardship and compassion.
My educational journey began with earning a degree in Plant Ecology and Environmental Science at the University of Kansas. In 1998, I moved to Colorado and spent several years in the beautiful mountains around the Vail and Roaring Fork Valleys until eventually making Fort Collins my home. My professional experience has always been rooted in gardening and in the principles of holistic healthcare. With a continued interest in learning, I’ve completed certifications in permaculture design, aromatherapy, formulation of botanical body care products, and yoga teacher training. In addition to being a small-business owner, I have worked extensively as a greenhouse gardener, professional consultant and onsite manager to some exciting projects including the Lovins’s Green Home located in Snowmass, CO and the rejuvenation project at the CSU Plant Conservatory here in Fort Collins.
My other interests include yoga, hiking, knitting, making jewelry, and most recently teaching myself to play mandolin.
